The Ultimate Moms Day Out: The Spa at Four Seasons St. Louis

0

Mama, if you need a day away to unplug and recharge, we’ve got the place for you! Our contributing writer team recently spent the afternoon at the Spa at Four Seasons St. Louis. It was a much needed day of pampering, relaxation and leisure for us all!

Upon arrival, parking was really easy and complimentary. I chose the self-park option, and some chose the free valet (one mom reported the her car was vacuumed when she picked it up!)

I entered the spa and was immediately relaxed, a beautiful fragrance, view and the accommodating staff allowed me to relax right away. After checking in at the desk, I was escorted to the women’s lounge where I had a locker waiting for me with a plush, white robe and slippers to wear around the facilities. We were also given a tour around the beautiful lounge, showing some of the highlights of the space. When you book a service through the spa, you have all-day access to the following:

  • steam room
  • sauna
  • 2 whirlpools (my fav)
  • the relaxation lounge
  • outdoor pool & lounge area

Pool time

I started my day with most of the other moms up at the sparkling outdoor pool. As soon I got outside, I checked in with the pool staff and they followed me with two provided beach towels to a lounge chair by the pool. I chose a magazine from their pile and I must admit I didn’t even read it as I was mesmerized by the spectacular view of the St. Louis Arch! While letting it sink in that I was at the pool by myself without my kids and their needs for floaties, sunscreen & snacks, a server came over to take my order and I enjoyed the most delicious Moscow Mule. (be sure to tuck your credit card into your robe pocket on the way up to the pool).

Spa Services

After some much needed adult conversation, I headed down to the waiting area (relaxation suite) before my scheduled massage. My massage therapist came to meet me and walked me to the massage room where I laid on a heated table and she let me inhale some aromatherapy for relaxation. The massage was SO GOOD! She gave me some tips on how to release tension and tight muscles in some areas of my body and treated my problem areas with care. After the massage I returned to the relaxation area where I had a cup of herbal tea, some snacks and put my feet up for a little while in the quiet.

After having nursing two kids within a few years, I realized I hadn’t been in a hot tub or whirlpool in a long time. I made my way there and put a cool towel on my neck while I allowed my limbs to catch a float from the jets in the water. As an experiment, I decided to try the steam room and it was, well, steamy! I made it about 7 minutes or so (phew!) and then took a final dip in the whirlpool before heading back into the lounge to change.

Take a day for yourself!

If you’re in need of a day off, a day out with your mom, sister, girlfriend or even a staycation with your better half – this is THE place to do it. When you book any service in the spa, you have access to all of the facilities for the ENTIRE day! We were all really impressed with the facilities but even more so with the staff that was so courteous, patient and friendly. I will now be adding this to the list of things to do every year for myself and honestly, I’ve already made a mental list of people who would love this as a gift for the holidays and I’m secretly hoping they don’t mind if I tag along!
